Philosophy and History
Restauranteur Anuchit Chetah opened Rüen Thai in November 1990.
Mr Chetah became familiar with the cuisine and wines of Europe during the course of his career in gastronomy (Steigenberger Hotel Management School, Bad Reichenhall; Trader Vic’s, Hotel Bayerischer Hof, Munich; Hilton Hotel, Tucherpark, Munich; Alois Dallmayr, Munich).
He now brings his knowledge and vast experience to Rüen Thai, a restaurant in which he can present authentic dishes from southern Thailand in a gourmet setting.
The enjoyment, experiencing, and tasting of fine wines is his hobby. It is this passion for fine wine that he passes on to his guests.
He proposes the ideal accompaniment to his southern Thai specialties, wines that complement the fine spices and herbs, be it a Grand Cru of Bordeaux, a Brunello from Italy, a Riesling from Germany, a Veltliner from Austria, or a Shiraz from Australia.
Excellent service is essential. At Rüen Thai, the guest is the center of attention. A satisfied guest must be able to say, “This was wonderful. I look forward to coming back!”
This is the philosophy that makes Rüen Thai unique and that has brought the restaurant numerous culinary awards: 14 points Gault Millau, 1 ½ F in Feinschmecker magazine, 1 cooking spoon from the guide Aral Schlemmeratlas, De gusto, Marcellino’s, 7th place Place Bordeaux in Munich, and other regional gastro-guides.
